Beyond the Gate video with Amanda Tapping

Fans who own the UK version of the Stargate SG-1 DVDs, will know the featurette ‘Beyond the Gate: A Convention Experience with Amanda Tapping’ from Volume 40. Those who haven’t seen it have now the opportunity to do so as Stargate Command has uploaded it to YouTube.

Amanda talks about the experience of attending conventions and meeting fans and it’s heartwarming and touching. You can feel the love she has for her fans and the gratitude she feels. Really, if you haven’t had the chance to meet Amanda yet, try to attend a convention to do so. She’s absolutely wonderful.

Amanda Tapping directing season 3 of Anne with an E

Amanda Tapping directed episode number eight of season 3 of the series Anne with an E. The episode aired last Sunday on CBC. International viewers will be able to see it on Netflix where the new season will be released on January 3, 2020.

Anne with an E is an adaptation by Moira Walley-Beckett of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s novel. The third season of the Canadian series continues to deviate from the original stories while covering topics like feminism, bullying, racism and identity throughout its ten episodes.

‘Great and Sudden Change’ was written by Jane Maggs and it is the third episode of Anne with an E that Amanda has directed, after ‘Wherever You Are Is My Home’ (1×07) and ‘Struggling Against the Perception of Facts’ (2×08).

Games, Polls, Website Translation and Amanda Tapping’s Filmography

Hello everyone!

I’ve been working on the website these past days:
There is now a page ‘Games‘ where you can find memory and word search games. I will expand it, over time.
I’ve added a page with polls. I’m curious and would like to know more about who visits this website and hope that you participate.
The website is now available in a few other languages, namely Czech, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. The translation is made by google translate, primarily. I have however native speakers working on improving google’s automatic translation. It will presumably take 2-3 more weeks until that process is finished.
I’ve also complemented Amanda’s filmography in front of the camera and in theatre.

There are no updates on Amanda Tapping, currently.
I don’t know whether she’s still working on Supernatural and Sabrina or on any other directing or acting gigs, nor do I know which episodes she directed. For Supernatural I only know that it’s not any of the first six episodes. Same for Anne with an E. We will keep you updated.
On a related note, if you haven’t yet seen the trailer for Motherland: Fort Salem, watch it here. It looks like a very interesting series. Motherland will come to @FreeformTV in Spring 2020. Amanda directed the third episode.

Amanda Tapping: 10 years of Twitter

Amanda’s first profile image

Today is Amanda Tapping’s 10-year Twitter anniversary!

Amanda first tweeted on the 8th of October 2009. It was actually Ming-Na (Camille Wray in Stargate Universe) who got her into Twitter. Being a well-loved actress, she quickly gained followers (3000 within two days!) and reached over 100,000 followers in May 2013.

Besides using Twitter to first promote Sanctuary and later her other work, she’s used it to connect with fans and co-workers and share thoughts as well as tidbits of her life.
Time to look back at some funny, inspiring, touching and interesting tweets:

2019 Director Showcase & New Screencaps

Amanda Tapping was announced to be part of DGC’s 2019 Director Showcase together with director Rachel Talalay on the 7th of September. It seems to me that she had to cancel her participation on short notice since the latest articles promoting the event don’t mention her anymore and the only photo of the panel I’ve found so far shows Rachel Talalay with Zach Lipovsky instead. Still, an article at https://www.viff.org promoting the event included a photo of Amanda which I want to share for those who didn’t see it.

I’ve added screencaps for the movie Taken Back and a site for the episode Borrowed Time of the series Millennium, including screencaps.
