New Media Page

The website now has a media page, where you can see a lot of articles, interviews and chats with Amanda Tapping, although the list is not complete. This not only includes written media, but also podcasts and videos. Media that is online available through the original publisher is linked. The list contains over 400 items and over 150 links! Amanda has been busy over the years!

Batwoman Air Date, New Project, Convention Updates

Amanda Tapping directed the season finale of Batwoman. The episode will air tomorrow, May 17, at 8:00 pm EST on The CW. Enjoy!

The probably next project for Amanda will be directing Hexengeddon. Hexengeddon is a female forward genre film that uses satire to battle misogyny on the big screen. Their website is still under construction but you can watch a video of their old IndieGoGo campaign, which gives a better insight into what the movie is about. You can also follow Hexengeddon on Twitter and Facebook for updates.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, all conventions that Amanda was supposed to attend this year have been postponed, except for LFCC. It’s unlikely that LFCC can go ahead, particularly once the quarantine measures for people arriving in the UK are introduced. Nevertheless, the organisers are tweeting that they plan to go ahead and that they’ll provide an update in June.

Momento Con has been postponed from May 2020 to May 8-9, 2021, and Amanda’s attendance is confirmed.

Gateway: The Official Stargate Convention has been postponed from June 2020 to June 25-27, 2021, and Amanda’s attendance is confirmed, too.

Gatecon – Full Circle has been postponed from August 2020 to August 26-29, 2021. Amanda’s attendance is not yet confirmed for the new date.

Air Date for The Flash & Update for the Canadagraphs Awards

With the COVID-19 pandemic paralyzing the entertainment industry, the airing of new episodes was postponed for several series, including the Arrowverse shows The Flash and Batwoman. Both have now returned, and the episode of The Flash Amanda Tapping directed is due to air on May 5, 2020, at 8:00 pm ET. It’s an episode named “Pay the Piper” and the 18th episode of season six.
For Batwoman, Amanda directed the season finale. While the air date is not public yet, the episode will probably air at the end of May.

Another show that has currently been removed from the schedule is Supernatural. Amanda has directed an episode of the current season too. So far, there is no news on when the show will return. Given that the shooting of the season hadn’t ended at the time the set had to close down, production will have to restart first, so we might have to wait until fall.

In other news: The Best of TV Awards by canadagraphs has ended, and Amanda got the fifth place in the category Best Director for the episode Nihilism (season 14, episode 10)! Congratulations!

Interviews at HathorHosts and Sci-Fi Talk

The interview of Amanda Tapping with Suanne Braun at HathorHosts was great! Thanks to Amanda and Suanne! You can watch it on youtube.

Suanne and Amanda did face some technical issues and had those who managed to watch the first two attempts of doing the live video in stitches. Chevrons Locked Podcasts did manage to record the first attempt Amanda made, after Suanne’s attempt had failed. If you’ve missed it, you need to watch it; it’s hilarious.

Amanda also did an interesting interview at Sci-Fi Talk recently. She talks with Tony Tellado about directing, acting on stage, technology, dealing with the quarantine and more. You can listen to it on Spreaker.

Contest / Website News

With a lot of people having extra free time due to the quarantine, I’ve asked fans on Twitter and Facebook whether they’d be interested in a contest, either fan art style (artwork, fanfic, music videos etc.) or game style (solving quizzes, achieving game high scores etc.) While there was interest in both, there seems to be a higher interest in a fan art contest, particularly on Twitter. We’ve therefore prepared a fan art contest, and you can read all the details under https://www.amandatappingfans.net/contest

Don’t forget that the website has a chatroom where you can chat with other Amanda fans. Regular chat meetings are Saturdays at 1:00 pm PST (Vancouver), respectively 4:00 pm EST (Toronto), 9:00 pm GMT (London), 10:00 pm CET (Paris), 8:00 am AEDT (Melbourne, Sunday morning!). The chatroom is, however, always open.

Interview with Suanne / Virtual AT Event / Stargate Rewatch

Suanne Braun (Hathor on Stargate SG-1) announced on Twitter and Facebook that she’ll do a series of interviews on Instagram with various actors and showrunners. It will be live, and the audience will get to ask questions for the last 15 minutes. The series will include people like Cliff Simon (Ba’al) and Joe Malozzi (executive producer, writer) and will start next Monday at 9:00 pm BST/ 4:00 pm EST with Kate Hewlett (Jeannie Miller). Amanda will be interviewed on the 14th of April, time to be announced. Follow Suanne on Instagram!

This weekend Inspirations 2020, a convention with Amanda Tapping and Teryl Rothery, would’ve taken place.
